How to protect your computer system against viruses and other malware
Computer systems are hacked daily and we are all the victims of security threats, because no one can stop hackers from their invasions on the systems. Here are the tricks I have shared to you in order to protect yourself, your system(s) and data against hackers.
In order to ensure your PC is secure, you have to make sure the Windows Firewall is turned on almost all the time. The Firewall ensures no data or information that comes into your computer from other computers without your permission depending on how you set it (Firewall), thus defends your system against unwanted software such as Virus, Worms and other operations intended to control your computer remotely without your willings.
It’s your choice; whether you turn the Windows Firewall On or off, but keep in mind that, having your PC with Firewall turned off can cause your system to be into risks of either being controlled by hackers or any other unwanted software, hence it’s recommended to have the Windows Firewall turned on for ensuring the computer security, OK.
Another technique you can use for protecting your computer against Viruses and other Malware is installing and running the most powerful and latest Anti-malware/spyware Program. Anti-Virus Software detects and removes unwanted software from computers, hence making your computer safe in case of security. It also shows details about your computer’s security status, Malware location on your PC, and options on what you can do in order to remove viruses.
In order for Malware-fighting program to work effectively and accurately, you have to update it on the regular basis so that it can have the latest Spyware, Virus and other Malware definitions.
Keep in your mind that Malware are created daily and new techniques are acquired and applied in creating and spreading Malware. On the same time, programmers who are responsible for developing Anti-malware software research on how strong viruses are, worms and other unwanted software, so that they can create new or update the current Anti-malware programs for defending the computers and data/information against these destructive/harmful software (Malware).
Scanning your computer using updated and powerful antivirus i.e. Microsoft Security Essentials, Avast antivirus, Norton, etc can secure your system (Computer) against Malware but not 100%. Why? This is due to a plenty of factors, among which include weakness of an antivirus you have, antivirus that is not up to date or simply because the Malware writer is cleaver than anti-malware programmer. All these factors can cause an anti-virus/Malware program fail to spot the Malware located inside your computer system. Most of anti-malware programs spot only the mostly known/older Malware letting the new ones replicating themselves and eventually damaging data and the entire system.
Antivirus programs scan files stored on your computer, E-mails and the whole system. Some of these programs are Microsoft Security Essentials, Norton, Avast, Mcafee, AVG, Kaspesky, PC Tools and Panda Security.
