Who is a hacker?
A hacker is a person with high technical knowledge and experience on programming languages capable of breaking into computer systems. Hacking is an act of modifying data/features from the system in order to achieve a certain goal other than the creator’s original objective(s).
Due to the fact that, there have been an increase of people in the World who have high knowledge on computer systems and other related fields, some of them are using their knowledge for gaining access to unauthorized systems, be it for fun or aiming at achieving something profitable (money, network access, etc). Hackers can spend most of their time attempting to break the security of a network, web servers and email severs.
Hackers always do not deal with the private individuals; instead they target on big companies and authorities i.e. Banks where we deposit our incomes for the future uses. They use specifically built programs such as Trojan Horses, Worms and Backdoors to track our private details i.e. credit cards, email user names/IDs, Passwords, etc.
The backdoor program allows the hacker to access your computer system whenever you connect to the Internet, hence a hacker can get full control to your computer, accessing anything stored in your computer such as programs, files etc.
Once the backdoor program is inside your PC, it can send the message back to hacker to refer him or her that it is in your system now, thus he or she will take important actions. Whenever you log on to the Internet, it can send a message again and again.
There is no perfect method you can use to protect your system and data against hackers completely because they are well prepared for what they do. Something you can do is running the system scan using the recently updated Malware-fighting program/software such as Avast Free Antivirus, Microsoft Security Essentials, etc.
You also have to avoid visiting Malware Websites that can fill your computer system with dangerous and harmful programs, and on top of that, they can use that chance to attempt invading your system. Avoid providing/expressing your personal details (credit card detail, cell phone numbers and others) to the web portals/sites that do not seem trustful.
