What is a Facebook fan Page?
The facebook page is a profile on facebook purposely created for celebrities, brands, organizations and businesses. Like facebook personal profiles, facebook pages allow businesses, public figures, and organizations create and manage public platforms on facebook for showcasing their activities and experiences in general.
Facebook as the most popularsocial networking website on the Internet, allows only official representatives of the public figures (such as politicians), organizations, business companies and other entities to create and manage facebook pages.
The difference between a facebook page and personal profile is that; Facebook pages are visible to anyone on the web by default; while personal profiles are visible to specific users (profiles’ owners and their friends). Another difference is an appearance of the two interfaces. If you visit any one of the facebook fan pages, then you will see how they differ to the personal profiles.The people connected to the facebook pages are typically referred to as fans, and you can get connected by just liking the pages. When you are connected to a page you will be receiving updates or notifications on any activity they perform. These updates will be displayed on your profile's news feed for you to navigate easily to the pages for accessing what is being presented.
The page's fans are granted with an ability to comment or express their reactions on the posts displayed on the page.
Pages can gain as many fans as possible, unlike personal profiles which have the limited maximum number of friends of about 5,000. There is also an opportunity for pages’ owners to promote their pages on facebook in order to make their activities reach many people depending on the amount of money paid. The more you pay the more fans and visitors on your page and if you sell products, then you will drive more sales.
The facebook pages are also featured with an admin panel where an admin can perform different administrative tasks, such as appointing some fans to become page’s admins, inviting fans, etc. The fans selected to be admins, will be able to perform some admin roles on behalf of you.
